upstroke D - downstroke ~ - hold note () - incidental note ph - 'pinched' harmonic rake - exagerate the strumming of the chord (but not enough for it to be an arpeggio) Playing Notes ------------- Guitars 1 and 2 are electro-acoustic guitars, with echo added. Guitars 3, 4, 5 and 6 are electric guitars. Guitar 2 is very low is the mix (it disappears in verse 2) and strums the chords which are used to form the arpeggios played by Guitar 1. In Solo 1, the powerchord/riff section is split into 2 parts. This can be played as a single part, but the passage sounds truncated. This is because the E-note (D-string 2nd fret) is common to the chords and riff - playing both parts on 1 guitar breaks the sustain of the chords. The 'Pinched Harmonic' in the riff played by Guitar 4, is subtle. It is produced by catching the string with the side of the thumb (on the picking hand) whilst striking it with the plectrum. In guitar solo 1, the powerchord backing implies the key is Gmajor. Guitar 5 solos using pentatonic scales. Bars 1 to 4 uses the Eminor pentatonic scale (relative minor of Gmajor), bar 5 - the Bminor pentatonic, bar 6 - the Am pentatonic, bars 7 and 8 revert back to the Em pentatonic scale. Positionally, bar 3 can be a bit difficult, it is made easier if '5b7' is played with the second finger of the fret hand. Bar 5 uses 'double-stops' (playing 2 notes on adjacent strings as a diad pair). Bar 6 is a fast lick - which may take a while to get the phrasing right. In the Instrumental section, the part played by Guitar 6+ has been created by layering a number of overdriven guitars, playing the same figure. This gives a 'keyboard-like' sound - and allows notes to be played by merely sliding to the frets, rather than picking them. Guitar solo 2 is made up of simple lead lines using Bm pentatonic. One Reason [Live] "All Your Empty Houses"
One Reason played an impromptu New Years Eve Eve show in Bloomington, IN.
PTL / Heritage USA New Years Eve Televised Event With Jim & Tammy Bakker 12/31/86- Vid #1
This show was notable for many reasons. Not only was it the last new years event held & televised at the site formerly known as Heritage USA, it was also the last major televised event on which Jim & Tammy Bakkers would appear, and the last televised event during which all four Bakkers would appear. December 31st fell on a Wednesday, so January 1st would have been Thursday. So, Jim & Tammy may have done a couple more of the daily shows before heading out of town for a brief vacation, but this was their last major televised event aside from those dailies. Little would they realize during this event that this would be one of the last times that they would ever appear on television while reigning over PTL. On a couple occasions during this program Jim made mention of the new Crystal Palace church which was to have a groundbreaking ceremony on January 2nd, 1987 (Jim's birthday), and I am sure that that event took place, just days after this new years eve program was televised. Almost immediately after that took place, the Bakkers headed to their vacation home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was while they were on vacation in Gatlinburg after the new years that their world began to fall apart. Jamie Charles (now known as Jay Bakker) starts off the program by introducing the rest of his family, followed by two songs sung by Tammy Faye. Jay Bakker doesn't appear throughout any of the remainder portions of these new years eve show videos that I can see. He is likely either backstage ...

Kansas - Lonely Wind
A song written by Steve Walsh Artist: Kansas Album: Kansas Year: 1974 Lyrics: When I'm needin' a friend I can talk to the wind God I sure am glad that I found him Sometimes he seems to be the only one beside me Who can feel the Lord's breath all around him Winter's cold frozen ice or a bright autumn day On a warm summer night you can hear him say Cry for me, sigh for me, sad breezes flow Stay for me, play for me, the song my friends will know My lonely wind must blow Mighty friend that is mine, can you give me a sign? He'll leave nothing but only to hear him I've seen the tall trees bend low when his mighty winds blow And that's all the more reason I fear him Hear him call for the earth lonely I can feel his great pain But on the eve of this day I'll join in his refrain When I'm needing a friend I'll remember the wind And my life here with the breezes of sorrow I'll be leaving him soon 'cause I've got to make room For the lonely that will find him tomorrow On a black stormy night in your bosom I'll cling And I'll know I've found love and the last song we'll sing
