Swan Lee got up at the runningford powwow and headed from the
            B
fire to his waiting canoe.
G# B
Juttering squaw untied the wigwam door, the chief blew
           C#
smokerings two by two

G#
The land in silence stands

Swan Lee, his boat by a by the bank in the darkness loosened
the rope from the creepers entwined
A feather from the wing of a wild young eagle pointed to the
land where his fortune he'd find

The land in silence stands

Swan Lee paddled on from the land of his fathers his eyes
scanned the undergrowth on either side from the shore hung a
hot heavy creature infested tropic, Swan Lee had a bow by his
side

Swan Lee got in half on land half on water grizzly bear and
raccoon his fair
he followed his ears to the great waterfall for Swan Lee knew
people and his squaw was there

the land in silence stands

Suddenly the rush of the mighty great thunder confronted Swan
Lee as this song he sang
In the dawn with his squaw, he was battling homewards, it was
all written down by long Silas Lang

Video Swan Lee

SYD BARRETT- Swan Lee
Strangely left off The Madcap Laughs in favour of confused studio chatter, that cemented the "bonkers" Syd mythology at the time he was starting his solo "career". Not released until 18 years later on 1988 rarities album Opel released on EMI, also available on 2001 Best Of. As the tune is effectively a collage of sound, I made a slideshow of some of his artwork to go with it, as i've not seen that in the countless other Barrett tribute vids.

Syd Barrett-Swan Lee (Silas Lang)
Take 5. Lyrics: Swan Lee got up at the Running Foot pow-wow, heading from the fire to his waiting canoe. Chattering Squaw untied the wigwam door, the chief blew smoke rings two by two! The land in silence stands... Swan Lee, his boat by the bank in the darkness, loosened the rope in the creek is entwined. A feather from the wing of a wild young eagle, pointed to the land where his fortune he'd find The land in silence stands Swan Lee paddled on from the land of his fathers, his eyes scanned the undergrowth on either side. From the shore hung a hot, heavy, creature infested tropic, Swan Lee had a bow by his side The land in silence stands Swan Lee kept time, half on land, half on water, Grizzly bear and raccoon his fare. He followed his ears to the great water fall, Swan Lee knew deep down that his squaw was there! The land in silence stands.... Suddenly the rush of the mighty great thunder, confronted Swan Lee as his song he sang, In the dawn, with his squaw, he was battling homewards It was all written down by Long Silas Lang. Thought to be recorded at a Pink Floyd stuio session in late '67, early '68...

Alan Gets a B (Dubbed)
Alan gets a bad grade and gets mad as poop. Music Swan Lee Part II by Syd Barrett

Pink Floyd- Silas Lang
There's a strong debate about the exact origin of this obscure outtake. Some think it was recorded by the Floyd during the "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" sessions, in June 1967. Other think it comes from a solo Barrett session in May 1968. This outtake contains the early chords of Syd Barrett's song "Swan Lee (Silas Lang)".
