Blackbird
This is a video I made from the Beatles song blackbird. I put a bunch of photos of the Beatles together and individually. This is one of my favorite songs. There is a lot of chat about what the song is about : This is what it is said to be about or the meaning of, and some other interesting facts. Paul mccartney wrote this about the civil rights struggle for blacks after reading about race riots in the US. Only 3 things were recorded: Paul's voice, his acoustic guitar, and a tapping. According to the video The Complete Beatles, the tap was not a foot or metronome - the Master was intentionally scratched. If you listen closely you will notice that is sounds like a scratch on a record. Birds were dubbed in later. This was one of 5 Beatles songs mccartney performed on his Wings Over America tour in 1976. Blackbird Singing is the title of a book of poems mccartney wrote. Brad Mehldau recorded an instrumental jazz version of this in 1997. In 2002, The Doves covered this on the soundtrack to the TV show Roswell. At some of mccartney's concerts 2005, he said that one of the first tunes he learned how to play was a riff by Bach, and that modified riff turned into this song. Hey Guys, I am going to be working on learning how to play this - I wanted to share this great site with you go check it out you get 12 free lesson to try so there is no risk. www.vguitarlessons.com - learn great songs like this on guitar with easy to follow video guitar lessons, plus download 12 free video ...

The Beatles - Blackbird (acoustic rehearsal)
Filmed June 11, 1968 lifeofthebeatles.blogspot.com "Blackbird" is a Beatles song from double-disc album The Beatles (also known as The White Album). Blackbird was written by Paul mccartney, but credited as usual to Lennon/mccartney. mccartney was inspired to write this while in Scotland as a reaction to racial tensions escalating in America in the spring of 1968. mccartney revealed on pbs's Great Performances (Paul mccartney: Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road), aired in 2006, that the guitar accompaniment for "Blackbird" was inspired by Bach's Bourrée in E minor, a well known classical guitar piece. As kids, he and George Harrison tried to learn Bourrée as a "show off" piece. Bourrée is distinguished by melody and bass notes played simultaneously on the upper and lower strings. mccartney adapted a segment of Bourrée as the opening of "Blackbird," and carried the musical idea throughout the song. The first night Linda Eastman, who would later become his wife, slept over, mccartney played it to the fans camped outside his house. The song was recorded 11 June 1968 in Abbey Road studios, with George Martin as the producer and Geoff Emerick as the audio engineer. mccartney played a Martin D 28 acoustic guitar. The track includes recordings of a blackbird singing in the background. Many bands and performers have made cover versions, including Donovan, Phish, the Grateful Dead, G. Love & Special Sauce, Billy Preston, Kenny Rankin, Keller Williams, Carly Simon, Bonnie Pink, the ...
