There are two other versions of this in the archives, but none are in the 
right key. I thought a great song such as this deserved a proper tab in the 
archives.


Because the recording of this song involved a lot of playing around with 
tape speeds, you need to tune down your guitar by a whole step.

So instead of tuning your bottom string to E, tune to D, then tune the other 
strings to this by playing at the 5th/4th fret (you know the routine ...)

You should end up tuned to DGCFAD.

This means that the song is based on the C chord for the guitar, but it
ends up being in the key of Bb.



I've tried to give a guitar part that does justice to all the things that are 
going on in the song. For the first bit it's fairly straight forward since the 
song has a guitar playing here - but later on I've tried to tab out a guitar 
version of what the cellos and trumpets are doing.

Of course you can't play all of the song on just one guitar - but you can do 
a pretty good job. I've written the chords above each line of tab if you just 
want to strum along, and the words are underneath the line of tab.

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever (Copyright 1967 EMI Records) "Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. Recorded at the end of 1966, the song was written by John Lennon during the filming of How I Won The War and is formally credited to the Lennon/mccartney songwriting team. It is named after a Salvation Army house in Beaconsfield Road, Woolton, Liverpool where Lennon played as a child. "Strawberry Fields Forever" was originally recorded for the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), but was instead released in February 1967 as a double A-side single backed with Paul mccartney's "Penny Lane". "Strawberry Fields Forever" reached number eight in the US, with numerous critics describing it as one of the group's best recordings. It is one of the defining works of the psychedelic rock genre and has been covered by many other artists. The song was later included on the Magical Mystery Tour LP (1967). The Strawberry Fields memorial in New York City's Central Park (near the site of Lennon's murder at The Dakota apartment building) was named after the song. When manager Brian Epstein pressed Martin for a new Beatles' single, Martin told Epstein that the group had recorded "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", which were their two finest songs to date, in Martin's opinion. Epstein said they would issue the songs as a double A-side single, as they had done with their previous single, "Yellow Submarine"/"Eleanor Rigby ...

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever Took me about a month to do, This was my 3rd music video. I've hear dthe song so many times, to me it seems that when John sings this song he's contrasting "Strawberry Feilds" (his "heaven") and shows a good and a bad side to it, thats why in the beggining of this video i put bright colors and flowers, (because its showing the "good" side) but as the song keeps on going, he seems to show the "bad" side, which is why i was dressed in all black and the background is either dark, or not full with flowers. I also took advantage of the weird instumentation in the song to use the psychedelic colors! After watching this video, many people have asked me "Do you take drugs?" The answer to that is NO.
