"It's Easy To Tell" is a single released in 1991 by American singer-songwriter Matraca Berg on RCA records. The track was originally included on Berg's follow-up album to her successful 1990 RCA album "Lying To The Moon". Entitled "Bittersweet Surrender", the new album was not accepted by RCA as the label was not satisfied with the content and consequently it was not released. "It's Easy To Tell" was released as a single in late 1991 and it charted in November of that year. Her subsequent second album "The Speed Of Grace" was not released until March 1994. Berg is a well known and highly respected Nashville songwriter ( she was born in Nashville in 1964 ) who has written hit songs for some of the biggest names in country music including Reba mcentire, Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Ray Price, Marie Osmond, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Michelle Wright, Suzy Bogguss, Dixie Chicks, Patty Loveless, Linda Ronstadt, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood and other famous names in the business. She was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008 ( one of the youngest ever inductees ) and is a Grammy nominee. Although songwriting is Berg's specialty, which she does very well, she is also a very good singer in her own right and she also plays the guitar quite well.
