Leaves were falling, just like embers,

In colors- red and gold, they set us on fire

Bouncing over a white cloud, killing the blues.
Now I am guilty of something...
I hope you never do
Because there is nothing
Any sadder than losing yourself in love

And then you've asked me...just to leave you
To set out on my own
And get what I needed.
You want me to find what I've already had.

Killing the Blues- Shawn Colvin

Roly Salley - Killing the Blues - by Erin Lassley
This is a song I've heard Shawn Colvin sing. I play it in a different key and added some chords to give my rendition. I like this song on a 12 string but 6 string is always more intimate and simple.
I apologize for the unflattering cough at the end - my computer didn't take my mouse click to shut off recording. Oh well....

Eddie in Cleveland
slideshow of Eddie Izzard in Cleveland, during the "Inside the Political Studio" interview with Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Afterwards, at the dinner, Eddie and Dennis made the rounds to each table, chatting with fans about all sorts of topics. Then there was more than an hour of posing for photos, shaking hands, and signing autographs, until we finally had to let them go. Song = Shawn Colvin singing "Killing the Blues."
We Was So Much Older Then - JRHS 1973
1973 was the year of the grad for us John Rennie High School kids. We thought we knew it all. Terra Cotta - we were gonna save the world. Stop pollution. Fight for peace. Help impeach the president. Ban the bomb.
Most went on to raise families of their own. Some went on to Hollywood, some went into the corporate world, some became social activists, musicians, journalists, teachers, cops, robbers, bakers and candle stick makers. Some are no longer with us. But we have one thing in common. Only a handful remain on the West Island. And we all have our memories of those crazy years at Rennie.
Besides producing that crop of graduates, '73 was good for something else - it was the year the 'happy face' was introduced. :)
We're younger than that now.
About the soundtrack...it is from 'Bobfest' known as The 30th anniversary celebration from 1992.
