1977: Punk Kwartiertje op Radio 3 (Part 2 of 5) - note: without Elvis Costello
In 1977 had KRO dj Vincent van Engelen een wekelijks "Punk Kwartiertje" op Radio 3. Ik nam het destijds als punk-puber een aantal weken achter elkaar op en onlangs vond ik, na 32 jaar het cassettebandje ongeschonden terug. Met o.a. The Saints, Runaways, Motorhead, Boomtown Rats, Elvis Costello, Clash, MC5, Stooges, Eater en ene "Drs. von Punkenstein". Nederland maakte toen voor het eerst kennis met Punk - wat ik heb opgenomen zet ik als 5 opvolgende parts op YouTube. muziekgeschiedenis! Dit is deel 2 van 5 Opmerking: helaas hebben degenen die de rechten van Elvis Costello misrepresenteren deel 2 eerder van internet geblocked. Deel 2 moest eerst gere-edit worden met Elvis Costello verwijderd - deel 3,4 & 5 zul je dus nog even op moeten wachten! Elvis Costello's "Red Shoes" has been removed from this episode, dictated by Elvis Costello's misrepresentatives who cannot distinguish copyright infringement from suggested hall-of-fameness. Part 3,4 & 5 are coming up with The Stranglers, The Runaways (feat. Joan Jett) and one of my lifetime favourites: "This Perfect Day" by The Saints (which explains the marker I placed at age 13 on this tape)
