Oil and gas permit activity remains low Oil and gas permitting activity in the Utica/Point Pleasant shale play remains at a low level as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reported five horizontal drilling permits were issued for the week ending May 16. Last week, there were two permits issued in Carroll and Harrison counties and one in Belmont County. The Carroll County permits were issued in Harrison Township to RE Gas Development, while the Harrison County permits were issued in German Township to Chesapeake Exploration.  read all
