Rollin And Tumblin tab - eric clapton

From: davies@ils.nwu.edu (Brian Davies)

A while back, someone asked for the lyrics for the Clapton Unplugged
arrangement of this song. And, since I don't remember who it was, I
figured I'd just have to share it with the group.

To add some guitar content to the post:

The easy way to play the main riff is to alternate between G played
in E form on the 3rd fret (355433), and the same thing without the E
form -- 333333. (Technically, a Bb6/G&C, I guess.)

  The riff goes something like:

  G G Bb G G G Bb G
  1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4

ROLLIN' & TUMBLIN' by McKinley Morganfield

Well, I woke up this morning; I best get rolling on.

Well, come here baby, sit down on daddy's knee.
Well, come here baby, sit down on daddy's knee.
I want to tell you about the way they treated me.

Well, I rolled and I tumbled, cried the whole night long.
Well, I rolled and I tumbled, cried the whole night long.
When I woke up this morning, all I had was gone.

Rollin' and Tumblin'
This here's a true classic. The origins of this song go back to the late 1920s and has been recorded and performed by superstars like Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Clapton and Johnny Winter as well as probably thousands upon thousands of blues-loving garage bands around the globe. B. "White Lightnin" Royl revs up his ol' Silvertone for some smokin' baaaad bottleneck slide action that'll give you the shivers! Howlin' Dog and JE keep the train rollin' down the tracks. Bob Dylan - Rollin' And Tumblin' (Fed's cover)
Cover of "Rollin' And Tumblin' ", a classic blues song that has been covered and performed by many different artists, including Muddy Waters (who is often credited as the original author), Robert Johnson, Elmore James and, more recently, by Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan. I based my cover on Bob Dylan's version, included in his album "Modern Times" (2006).
