Blocked Vids? Muted Audio? Pretty Fucked Up~ A message for youtube UMG BMG EMI and WMG
April 9th... Blakes Birthday! Since this is my Bday video we would love it if everyone shared it like crazy...its not a normal Bday video! Its just something we needed to say! Yesterday we lost the audio on another video. We are ready to give up making videos...what is the point? We buy the music, we make the vid, we upload it so our friends and subs can see it, and lately it seems like we have to take it to audio swap. We don't make money on these vids. They are just a hobby. We would really like to work with the record companies and get copyrights! The problem is that in order to get a copyright you are looking at a minimum $1000.00 per song per year...Thats alot of dough to lay out so your friends and family can see a penguin vid. I dont know about you but we can't afford it! Yesterday we lost a dispute to UMG, thankfully they didn't ask YT to close us down! The song was from 1985 so we really don't know what their problem is. Our parody they didn't allow...maybe we should have done an illegal upload of the entire official video...than I am sure they would have just slapped a contains content from UMG logo and an ad on it. We spend hours making creative videos. Really wish the record labels would just finally get it! We use songs we love because we love the music. Do they really think our penguin videos will make someone not buy the audio? If that is what they think than they are Pretty Fucked Up! Or maybe they are so greedy for that one penny per play of their ...
