My Friend Of Misery tab - metallica

The way this song is tabbed is fairly simple.  Upon
examination, you will find that some tabs are tied
together or connected by lines.  These are to be
played by two (2) guitars.  When this song is listened
to through headphones, the listener can hear the top
tablature panned to one separate ear with the lower
tablature to the other ear.  The parts where there are
just one tab is basically both guitars playing the
same thing.
	I still have yet to figure out the last solo.  If
anyone has the solo, please update it, or send it to
me and I’ll update it.  I didn’t wanna get TOO
technical (but I did).  Just listen to the song to get
a good understanding of the song.

/ - tremolo bar dip; n = amount to dip
 - tremolo bar down
n/ - tremolo bar up

= - hold bend; also acts as connecting device for
hammers/pulls
<> - volume swell (louder/softer)

Metallica - My Friend Of Misery. Check out my profile for all the other songs:) "My Friend of Misery" is the 11th song from Metallica's 1991 eponymous album. This song has never been played live in its entirety, but Jason Newsted often used the riff in his live bass solos. Newsted initially wanted the song to be the instrumental of the album, continuing the Metallica tradition of including an instrumental in all of their previous albums. The lyrics describe an outsider view of someone reveling in self-pity and maintaining a pessimistic view of the entire world. It is the longest track on the record at 6:47. The track was covered by the Melodic Death Metal band Dark Tranquillity in 1995 for the re-release of The Gallery. Metallica hasn't played the song at all since Newstead's departure. This maybe due to the fact that current bassist Robert Trujillo does not use a pick.
