Video The Song Is Over

The Song Is Over - The Who
The Song Is Over by The Who, 1971 "The Song Is Over" was to be the finale to the Lifehouse movie, beginning as Bobby and the crowd vanish and continuing through the end credits. The song quotes from "Pure and Easy" in its final bars, and from a 1967 song called "Party Piece for Rael" which Townshend wrote for his never-finished rock opera Rael. Pete Townshend's original demo was released on his 1999 solo album Lifehouse Chronicles. www.songfacts.com

The Who - The Song is Over (piano)
This is my rendition of The Who's "The Song is Over" from the "Who's Next" album. I hope you enjoy.

Time - Pink Floyd
This is Time (The Dark Side of the Moon, 1973), from Pink Floyd, live at PULSE; recorded at Earls Court, London, in 1994. Roger Waters, one of the the composers of Time, is not in this show. Current members of Pink Floyd are: David Gilmour (guitars, lead vocals) • Richard Wright(keyboards, secondary vocals, backing vocals) • Nick Mason(drums, percussion); Lyrics: Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the ...

The Song Is Over - The Who Cover
I can't remember who requested this one....but anyway... this one is from The Who's 1971 masterpiece ' Who's Next '...' The Song Is Over ' was originally supposed to be the closing song from Pete's aborted ' Lifehouse ' project . Whenever I heard Roger Daltrey start singing in this one..I could always picture him belting it out while standing atop a mountain or something...lol...it's a GRAND tune with both Pete and Roger taking turns on vocals...again, I tried doing a digital Keith Moon via drum loops..because Keith just explodes when he comes in on this song . So...if we ever do find the meaning of life...it most certainly could be a pure and easy musical note !!...one of the ideas in Lifehouse that is very cool !! Hope ya like it...cheers...and have a great weekend ! The Song Is Over - The Who Words & Music by Pete Townshend The song is over It's all behind me I should have known it She tried to find me Our love is over They're all ahead now I've got to learn it I'm gonna sing out [chorus:] I'll sing my song to the wide open spaces I'll sing my heart out to the infinite sea I'll sing my visions to the sky high mountains I'll sing my song to the free,...to the free !....
